MOTHERS DAY CHOC CUPCAKES + CHOC MERINGUE BUTTERCREAM

This is my absolute favourite Chocolate Mud cake. The beauty of it is that it still actually resembles a cake and not a brownie as most other Mud cakes seem to do.

It is succulent, moist, bitter and sweet with a fudgy density that makes itself apparent after a few seconds into the first bite.

Its also exceptionally good with as tablespoon or so of grated orange zest beaten into the batter.

Beautiful dark, rich cooked chocolate meringue buttercream frosting is not so sickly sweet as many of its butter and sugar cousins and lends a silky smoothness rounding out the whole textural experience.

I had great fun decorating the M&M cupcakes but I completely adore the heart decorative theme.
